I work hard to meet every dog’s individual needs, even if that means spending a little extra time with your pooch lying on the floor playing or cuddling to help them feel comfortable and calm. I appreciate that some dogs may be nervous and I will do everything I can, for them to have a positive experience.
I am fully qualified and insured and an active member of the Pet Industry Federation. I regularly attend seminars and shows in order to keep updated with all the latest grooming trends, techniques, equipment and technology.

My cavapoochon Jax can be quite anxious being groomed especially as his hair can get quite knotty so needs some extra time as well as love and attention during the process. After seeing many of the dogs Lucy grooms on my dog walks I decided to contact her to ask if she would be interested in doing Jax. Lucy came back really quickly and assured me that Jax would get 1 on 1 time with her and she would play with him, sit on the floor with him and give him treats until he was comfortable with her. Jax has now been going to Lucy for the last few months and he loves her, he runs in to give her lots of kisses and is fine with me leaving him there. You can tell that Lucy loves each of the dogs that she grooms and he always comes out with a lovely cut and smelling divine! When we see Lucy on dog walks Jax runs up to her which makes me feel really happy as he only does this with people he loves and knows. I feel completely confident in Lucy’s abilities and highly recommend her to anyone who’s dog can be a bit nervous when getting groomed or who just wants their dog to look fantastic! Lorna Phillips
I looked at myself in the mirror. It was that time again! My fur looked lifeless; tufts had appeared where it grew quicker, but it smelt wonderful from rolling around on the grass. The hair in my ears was making them itchy. I shook my head, trying to make it go away. Still there, so I tried to scratch behind an ear. Ouch! My nails need trimming. Then, yawning I saw my teeth had become brown again! I need bones, but what I really need is a makeover. So, when a girl wants to look good, real good, she goes to Lucy the Groomer. Lucy is patient, kind and her voice that is such sweet music it makes you happy. When, Lucy finishes her magic, my fur is clean, odourless and even. My nails are trimmed to perfection. Lucy is amazing at what she does. She's passionate about dogs and her grooming is testament to this. Lucy spends the time with those dogs who may need a little more coaxing to ensure that they have an enjoyable experience. Our dog was never keen on being groomed but she loves Lucy. My beautiful Golden Retriever has always hated going to the groomers, the noise, the chaos and other dogs all became too much for her. I wanted a calm experience where she would be the only dog and a groomer that understood me and my dogs needs. Then I found Lucy, who gave my old girl exactly that experience, no rushing, a calm environment and a genuine love of dogs. Lucy even spent time fussing her on the floor until she was happy my girl was relaxed. So now there’s no more shaking with fear and I can see a genuine affection from my dog for Lucy. Lucy also knew how worried I was and half way through, let me know everything was okay. Very very happy with Lucy’s care of my dog and a brilliant groom as well.
